The search for group identity is the key preoccupation of our time – with the loss of traditional identities – maleness, whiteness, religion, age. Those were the battlegrounds of power politics. Thus the interest in crypto, covid-denialism and preoccupation with tribal identities, tatoos, piercings etc…people need a group.
